League recap: Xavier Prep win leads to rise in state rank

Xavier Prep moved up to 997 from 1,028 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freelance. The Saints were able to make the jump by beating Firebaugh 42-7.

Xavier Prep took down the Falcons 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Rex Rover threw for 180 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Darrell Lewis' team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Daniel Stabile chipped in 78 yards. Austin Braunschweiger helped Xavier Prep's passing attack out by catching one ball for 29 yards.

Stabile was the best wideout in the league this week as the Saints bested Firebaugh. Stabile tallied three receptions for 131 yards.

Xavier Prep made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,848 from 14,238. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-7 victory over Sergio Villasenor 's team last week.
