Basketball Recap: Collinwood's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

After losing to McKenzie the last time they met, Collinwood decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Collinwood Trojans took down the McKenzie Rebels 55-40 on Friday. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Rebels are ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Collinwood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. As for McKenzie, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Collinwood will take on Wayne County on Monday. Wayne County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Collinwood likes a good challenge. McKenzie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
