The Victoria West Warriors are on the road again on Friday and play against the Harlingen South Hawks. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Victoria West rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past Southside 59-22 on the road. Victoria West might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matchups by 35 points or more this season.
Victoria West relied on the efforts of Camden Repper, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and Kamauri Montgomery, who rushed for 238 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Montgomery hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for ten straight games.
Meanwhile, Harlingen South had just enough and edged McAllen Memorial out 10-7 on Friday. That's two games straight that Harlingen South has won by exactly three points.
David Sanchez was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Victoria West's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Harlingen South, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
