Baseball Recap: Enterprise/Joseph Takes a Loss

Enterprise/Joseph dropped down to 12-6 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Burns Hilanders. The Savages were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Hilanders' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Burns, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.

For Burns' part, Jack Wright made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Wright has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Johnson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Amir Schouviller-Kness was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enterprise/Joseph will host Heppner/Ione at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burns, they will face off against Grant Union at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
