Basketball Recap: Montville's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Montville came tearing into Monday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Mount Olive Marauders by a score of 65-53. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Marauders are ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Mount Olive, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Montville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-62 win against Morristown on the 22nd. Mount Olive has also already played their next game, a 42-33 loss against Morris Hills on the 22nd.
