Baseball Recap: Whitmire Wolverines vs. McCormick Chiefs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenwood Christian, Whitmire was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the McCormick Chiefs a 16-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Dalton Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Whitmire is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Williams was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Crue Keller was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brian Steele, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
