4A Soco 1 Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances in games played from last Thursday through Saturday (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Gavin Ray Lockett Goes Supernova in Pueblo West Win

Pueblo West picked up their sixth consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Gavin Ray Lockett. Ray Lockett turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 44 yards and a touchdown.

If history really does repeat itself, Ray Lockett might just drop another big game when he faces off against Mesa Ridge on Friday. Ray Lockett rushed for 145 yards and four touchdowns the last time he and the Grizzlies duked it out back in September of 2023.

Trevon Salas and Co. Win Third in a Row

Trevon Salas's big game helped extend Mesa Ridge's winning streak to three on Saturday. Salas did his part (and then some), rushing for 43 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown for the 'W'.

Salas must have Widefield's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Salas saw the Gladiators), he rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Ryan Siebert Turns in Season-Best Effort

Pueblo West was led to victory by Ryan Siebert, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Siebert rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

This year, Siebert has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 50.7 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 25.5 rushing yards per game.

While Brody Mitts delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Falcon. Montrose had no answer to Mitts as he picked up 48 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Falcon is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. Their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Widefield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
