Softball Game Preview: Ripley Vikings vs. Nitro Wildcats

The Ripley Vikings will head out to take on the Nitro Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ripley is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Ripley lost 9-1 to Hoover on Monday.

Sherman hit Nitro with a five-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats came up short against the Tide, falling 12-3.

Nitro saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyndi Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Ripley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Nitro, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-15.

Everything went Ripley's way against Nitro in their previous meeting back in March, as Ripley made off with a 15-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
