Football Game Preview: Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears vs. Colony Knights

The Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears will take on the Colony Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Colony took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Juneau-Douglas, who comes in off a win.

Juneau-Douglas is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Dimond, who was ranked 13th at the time (Juneau-Douglas was ranked 11th). The Crimson Bears pulled ahead with a 15-14 photo finish over the Lynx on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Crimson Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Colony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The game between the Knights and South Anchorage didn't end well, with the Knights falling 48-29.

Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Juneau-Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Juneau-Douglas against Colony when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-6 win. Will the Crimson Bears repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
