 On Friday, Elkhorn South faced Papillion-LaVista South in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Elkhorn South Storm walked away with  a   4-1  victory over the Papillion-LaVista South Titans. The  win was nothing new for Elkhorn South as they're now sitting on six straight.
 Elkhorn South got a great performance from  Tanner Foertsch as he  struck out ten batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits (and not a single walk).
 At the plate,  Connor Charvat was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
 On Papillion-LaVista South's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kye Privett, who  went 1-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Papillion-LaVista South  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with ten  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Elkhorn South pushed their record up to 6-2 with that  victory, which was their tenth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-6.
 Elkhorn South will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Island at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Elkhorn South: 3.8, Grand Island: 3.4) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they will be playing at home against Millard West at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Millard West is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8  runs per game this season.
