Basketball Recap: Crescent Comes Up Short

Crescent was the 55-4 winner over Greenville Tech Charter when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday.

Greenville Tech Charter was led to victory by Jayla McGill and Jynia Smith. McGill dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards, while Smith posted 21 points and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of the Warriors' points.

Crescent's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Greenville Tech Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Crescent will head out to face off against Ninety Six at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they will venture away from home to challenge Brashier Middle College Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th.
