Softball Recap: Hampshire Regional Wins Going Away Against Minnechaug Regional

Hampshire Regional won the last time they faced Minnechaug Regional and things went their way on Sunday too. The Raiders put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 16-4 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

Ryanne Dubay1 spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Teagan Charles, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachael Hickox, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hampshire Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Minnechaug Regional only managed four hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Hampshire Regional and bumps their season record up to 15-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Minnechaug Regional, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hampshire Regional will challenge rival Pittsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Minnechaug Regional is set to take on their familiar foe Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
