Kendall Ryan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Ryan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, Madi Owens was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Geena Birkhimer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
Madonna kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian made easy work of Tygarts Valley on Monday and carried off a 17-4 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Peyton Moore and Josalyn Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Moore scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Phillips scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Phillips also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Jillian Conn was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Madonna pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Christian, their record is now 6-3.
Trinity Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Madonna hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. It's a different story for Trinity Christian, though, as they've only averaged .231. Will they be able to contain Madonna's hitters?
Everything went Madonna's way against Trinity Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Madonna made off with a 9-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Dons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
