Basketball Recap: Ironwood Ridge Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jaidyn Saucedo and Molly Walter

Ironwood Ridge's tournament run continued when they took on Prescott on Friday. The Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prescott Badgers. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Molly Walter and Jaidyn Saucedo certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Walter dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Saucedo went 6 of 14 on her way to 23 points. That's the most points Walter has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Elslager, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Addie Prisciandaro continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Prescott, going 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 27 points. Another player making a difference was Bella Abt, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Ironwood Ridge now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Prescott, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Ironwood Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-45 loss against Sunnyside on the 7th. As for Prescott, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-46 victory against Coconino on the 7th.
