Volleyball Recap: Ferris Saxons vs. Central Valley Bears
Ferris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Central Valley Bears. The Saxons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 3-2.
Ferris started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-13, 25-12, 25-21.
Central Valley found their leader in sophomore Addison Luthi, who had five digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Luthi. Chelsea Knigge also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Ferris' defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Central Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ferris is set to square off against their familiar foe Lewis & Clark at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Central Valley will face off against rival Shadle Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
