While Columbia didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Carteret Ramblers on Thursday. That looming 16-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Columbia's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Carteret, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will square off against Becton at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Carteret, they will challenge South River at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
