Volleyball Game Preview: Metro-East Lutheran Knights vs. Alton Redbirds

Metro-East Lutheran hasn't had much luck against Alton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Knights will welcome the Redbirds at 4:30 p.m.

Metro-East Lutheran is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Father McGivney Catholic.

Metro-East Lutheran was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 21 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Alton was able to grind out a solid win over Granite City on Thursday, taking the game 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redbirds.

While Alton might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Granite City scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18.

Alton picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-12. As for Metro-East Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Metro-East Lutheran came up short against Alton when the teams last played back in March, falling 2-0. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
