Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Dayton walked away with it. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Churchill County Greenwave on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Dust Devils, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Dayton was led to victory by ARACELI ACOSTA and HAZEL WINWARD. ACOSTA had 13 digs and two assists, while WINWARD had 12 assists and five digs.

Dayton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Churchill County only served four.

Despite the defeat, Churchill County had strong showings from Destinee Tapia, who had 16 digs and three assists, and Raegan Johnson, who had 21 kills, three digs, and three blocks. Johnson has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 30 times she's played.

Dayton's victory bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Churchill County, they moved to 22-10 with that loss, which also ended their seven-match winning streak.

Dayton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Truckee on the 1st. Churchill County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
