Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Liberty Falcons came up short against the McNary Celtics and fell 58-51. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Celtics are ranked 24th).

Liberty has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for McNary, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will host Sherwood at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Sherwood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for McNary, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Salem at 6:30 p.m. South Salem knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully McNary likes a good challenge.
