Given Canton's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while East Peoria are ranked 463rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canton's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-3. As for East Peoria, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 19 matches, dating back to last year. That leaves them at an 0-10 record this season.

Canton is on the road again on Thursday to play Geneseo at 6:00 p.m. As for East Peoria, they will play host again on Thursday to welcome Roanoke-Benson/Eureka, where kickoff is scheduled at 6:00 p.m.
