Softball Recap: Emerson Cavaliers vs. Pompton Lakes Cardinals
Emerson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-1 to the Pompton Lakes Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in April.
Emerson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Schumeyer, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Addison Youmans also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Emerson now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Pompton Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emerson will head out to face off against Hasbrouck Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pompton Lakes, they will square off against St. Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
