Baseball Recap: East Webster Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but East Webster ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Kosciusko Whippets 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Whippets back in February, they had to take a 16-4 loss.

Jace Yates tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Stetson Perkins was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

East Webster is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Kosciusko, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-4.

Coming up, East Webster will host French Camp Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. Kosciusko does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
