Basketball Recap: Gretna Takes a Loss

Gretna played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 70-41 loss at the hands of the Papillion-LaVista South Titans. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Titans: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Gretna had strong showings from Anna Weberg, who posted ten points, and Ava Mcartor, who earned ten points.

Leading Papillion-LaVista South to victory were Addison Medeck and Ella Morehouse. Medeck dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards, while Morehouse scored 15 points and three steals. What's more, Medeck also posted an 80% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maizey Macke, who had 11 points.

Gretna's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Papillion-LaVista South, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Gretna has already played their next game, a 69-35 defeat against Skutt Catholic on the 24th. Papillion-LaVista South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
