Volleyball Recap: Woodward Academy's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Woodward Academy dropped to 16-3 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McIntosh Chiefs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Leah Scantlebury paced Woodward Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Scantlebury got some help from Marissa Jones and her 17 assists. Lotus Jiroch controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for McIntosh, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Leading McIntosh to victory were Baylee Tanton and Lilly Bracco. Tanton had ten assists and five digs, while Bracco had seven digs and one assist.

Coincidentally, Woodward Academy and McIntosh will both be playing Midtown the next time they take the court. The War Eagles will head out to face the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Chiefs will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
