Basketball Game Preview: Tuscola Mountaineers vs. Pisgah Bears

Tuscola hasn't had much luck against Pisgah recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tuscola Mountaineers will head out to take on the Pisgah Bears at 7:30 p.m.

Tuscola is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 74-45 loss at the hands of East Henderson. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 571st, while the Eagles are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pisgah ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past West Henderson 50-48. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Tuscola's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Pisgah, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Tuscola came up short against Pisgah in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 76-63. Can Tuscola avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
