Baseball Recap: Mission Valley Comes Up Short

Mission Valley entered their contest against Council Grove on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Vikings came up short against the Braves, falling 15-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 9-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Mission Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Mills, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Mission Valley's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 17-3. As for Council Grove, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

While Mission Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
