Football Game Preview: Hawthorne Bears vs. Secaucus Patriots

Hawthorne has gone a perfect 3-0 against Secaucus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bears are taking a road trip to square off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Hawthorne is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Hawthorne had taken New Milford down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Bears took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Meanwhile, Secaucus fell victim to Butler and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Bulldogs 35-0. The Patriots have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Secaucus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hawthorne, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Hawthorne didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Secaucus in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
