Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yough). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the California Trojans a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

J Vay was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. Those doubles were her first of the season.
