J.R. Tucker got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They blew past the Hermitage Panthers 14-4. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Kendall Shockley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Shockley was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miyah Williams, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Victoria Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
J.R. Tucker's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Hermitage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
