Softball Recap: West Holmes Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

While West Holmes's victory against Wooster wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights skirted past the Generals 10-9. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

BRIAR CLINE was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on ZALINA PROPER, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of PAYTON HUDSON, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

West Holmes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

West Holmes' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Wooster, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coming up, West Holmes will square off against Minerva at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wooster, they will face off against Jackson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
