Basketball Recap: Maliyah Dominguez and Ana Cisneros Secure Win for Questa

Questa had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-45 W against the Centennial Rams. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 47th in New Mexico, while the Rams are ranked 170th in Colorado) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Questa to victory were Ana Cisneros and Maliyah Dominguez. Cisneros posted 22 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Dominguez almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine steals. Those 22 points gave Cisneros a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jocelyne Ortega, who put up four points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Questa's record now sits at 5-1. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Questa will take on Springer in a holiday battle at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Centennial, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kim/Branson at 5:00 p.m. on January 15, 2026.
