Volleyball Game Preview: St. Monica Mariners vs. Rio Hondo Prep Kares

The St. Monica Mariners will head out to square off against the Rio Hondo Prep Kares at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Monica is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Liberty.

St. Monica had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Rio Hondo Prep waltzed into their match on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Kares have posted since February 17th.

St. Monica has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-14-2 record this season. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they pushed their record up to 19-13 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
