Softball Recap: Normandy Gets the Win

Normandy won against Bay on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Invaders came out on top against the North Olmsted Eagles by a score of 11-6. For the Invaders, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Ava Ramirez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Ramirez was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Allison Pollock was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Karlak, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Normandy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Olmsted only posted an OBP of .387.

The win made it two in a row for Normandy and bumps their season record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for North Olmsted, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Normandy will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Columbia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Olmsted, they will head out on the road to face off against Shaker Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
