After a string of three wins, Newton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs. While losing is never fun, Newton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Dallas Center-Grimes are ranked eighth).

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for Dallas Center-Grimes, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newton will square off against Des Moines East at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dallas Center-Grimes, they will take on Bondurant-Farrar at 7:15 p.m. on May 8.
