Softball Game Preview: Chandler Wolves vs. Kofa Kings

The Chandler Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Kofa Kings at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Chandler has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 10th.

Last Monday, Chandler didn't have quite enough to beat Marana and fell 12-11.

Cian Noli was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Cecilia Escalante was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Chandler kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. This was only their first loss (out of eight games) when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, Kofa was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against Sunnyside, falling 10-0. The Kings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Chandler's record is now 7-11. As for Kofa, their record is now 3-9.

Kofa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chandler hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. It's a different story for Kofa, though, as they've only averaged .197. Will they be able to contain Chandler's hitters?

Everything went Chandler's way against Kofa in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Chandler made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chandler since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
