            Basketball Recap: Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs vs. Idalia Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            Haxtun was the  47-46 winner over Idalia when they last played one another  back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs fell  46-37 to the Idalia Wolves on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Fightin' Bulldogs have lost by  exactly nine  points.
Loss or not, Haxtun got some senior leadership from  Bobbi Starkebaum and  Kelsie Hadeen.  Starkebaum  posted eight  points and 12  rebounds, while  Hadeen  had ten points in addition to six  boards and three  steals. Thanks to that strong game,  Hadeen now owns an excellent 41.7%  three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was  Lilly Lemesany, who  scored nine  points and five  rebounds.
 Even though they lost, Haxtun  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 17  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in 38 consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
  Krista Wieser continued  her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Idalia,  almost  dropping  a double-double with 18 points and nine  boards. What's more,  Wieser also racked up seven  steals, the most she's  had since back in March of 2024.  Ailyn Monarrez was another key player,  almost  dropping  a double-double with ten  points and nine  rebounds.
Haxtun's defeat was  their third straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Idalia, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 13 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record  this season.
 Haxtun has already played their next contest,  a  58-51  loss against Caliche on the 15th. As for Idalia, they will face off against Stratton at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
