Southside Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Chapman Panthers 4-3 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Sabres sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Will Cauthen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Southside Christian's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 31-2-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chapman, their loss dropped their record down to 20-10.

Looking ahead, Southside Christian will square off against Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sabres 2.6, the Landsharks 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Chapman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
