Basketball Game Preview: Havana Ducks vs. Central/Southeastern Panthers

Havana is 1-6 against Central/Southeastern since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Havana Ducks will host the Central/Southeastern Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, everything came up roses for Havana against Peoria Heights as the squad secured a 63-8 victory. Given the Ducks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Patriots are ranked 685th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Central/Southeastern waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 60-31 win over the Eagles.

Havana's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points per game. As for Central/Southeastern, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.
