Meanwhile, Mingo Central had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Bluefield 18-1 on Wednesday.
Tyler Coleman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Mingo Central is 2-1 when Coleman posts two or more runs, but 4-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keziah Joplin, who went 4-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Mingo Central: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Newsome, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Mingo Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Tolsia's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Mingo Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
