Football Recap: American Takes a Loss

American lost against Goleman back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Patriots had to suffer through a 42-13 loss at the hands of the Gators.

Kenneth Duckhart threw for 174 yards and one TD. Greg Watts was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards. On the ground, Brett Torres rushed for 65 yards on only seven carries.

Goleman can attribute much of their success to Timothy Potts, who threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Adrian Atoa also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

American's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Goleman, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

American wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 28-6 victory against Jackson on the 11th. As for Goleman, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hialeah Gardens at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
