Soccer Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

If Southside was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Emerald last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Wren Hurricanes on Monday, falling 4-1. Southside were red-hot offensively heading into the match (they scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior), but Wren's defense proved too tough.

Southside's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Wren, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Southside is set to challenge their familiar foe Fountain Inn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wren will square off against rival Westside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
