Basketball Game Preview: McKinley Bulldogs vs. Jackson Polar Bears

The McKinley Bulldogs will challenge the Jackson Polar Bears at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

McKinley will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 23-point drubbing they dealt Green on Tuesday. Everything went McKinley's way against Green as McKinley made off with a 70-47 victory. Given McKinley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Green is ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McKinley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reed Sims Jr led the charge by putting up 14 points and four steals. Anthony Chavers was another key player, going 7 of 9 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Jackson waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Panthers 75-59.

McKinley's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

McKinley was able to grind out a solid win over Jackson in their previous matchup back in January, winning 87-78. Will McKinley repeat their success, or does Jackson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
