Softball Recap: Eaton Takes a Loss

Eaton was the 13-1 winner over Tri-County North when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 9-8 on Monday.

Ella Statzer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddyn Davis, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Eaton's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Tri-County North, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Eaton will welcome Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tri-County North, they will head out to take on Bradford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Railroaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.82 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
