Oak Grove entered their tilt with Central Davidson on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Spartans. The Grizzlies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Not much got past Mary Peyton Hodge, who gave up just five hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep Central Davidson off the board. Hodge has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isabelle Lawrence was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Harper Sugg, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Oak Grove's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Central Davidson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Oak Grove will take on Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Davidson, they will challenge Southwest Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 12.4 runs per game this season.
