Softball Recap: Ohio County Find Success

Ohio County hadn't done well against Hancock County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Hornets back in April, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Not much got past Madyson Crowe (2027), who gave up just five hits to keep Hancock County off the board. Crowe (2027) has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ohio County's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Talynn Clark (2026), who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Ohio County now has a winning record of 17-16-1. As for Hancock County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ohio County will venture away from home to face off against Todd County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.05 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hancock County, they will head out to take on Muhlenberg County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
