Soccer Recap: Great Crossing Comes Up Short

Great Crossing lost against Lafayette back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warhawks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. While losing is never fun, Great Crossing can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky soccer rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Lafayette are ranked tenth).

Great Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6-3. As for Lafayette, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Great Crossing will host Trinity at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Great Crossing's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lafayette, they will face off against West Jessamine at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
