Softball Game Preview: Orono Riots vs. Central Red Devils

The Orono Riots will take on the Central Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Orono came up short against Foxcroft Academy and fell 7-2. The Riots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Central, as they earned their first away win of the season. They blew past Penquis Valley 12-2 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Red Devils needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Orono, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Orono's way against Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Orono made off with a 12-6 win. Will the Riots repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
