Basketball Game Preview: Inter-Lakes Lakers vs. White Mountains Spartans

Inter-Lakes is 2-7 against White Mountains since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Inter-Lakes Lakers will venture away from home to square off against the White Mountains Spartans at 4:30 p.m. White Mountains took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Inter-Lakes, who comes in off a win.

Inter-Lakes will head into Wednesday's match after some sweet revenge against Newfound Regional: Inter-Lakes made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Newfound Regional, but still couldn't quite topple them. Inter-Lakes really took it to Newfound Regional for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-21 victory. That 29 point margin sets a new team best for the Lakers this season.

Among those leading the charge was Brooke Taylor, who made all 5 shots she took to post 15 points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (two). Bella Kimball was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, White Mountains faced Groveton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. White Mountains fell to Groveton 50-44. The Spartans have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Inter-Lakes moved to 3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for White Mountains, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.

Inter-Lakes was taken down by White Mountains 62-16 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Inter-Lakes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
