Baseball Recap: West Sabine Takes a Loss

After flying high against Alto last Friday, West Sabine came back down to earth. The West Sabine Tigers lost 9-3 to the Douglass Indians on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 5-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Kade Myrann made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Peyton Bourque also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

West Sabine's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Douglass, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as West Sabine Tigers duke it out with Big Sandy Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Douglass, they will venture away from home to square off against New Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglass is facing New Summerfield at the right time seeing as New Summerfield is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
