Basketball Recap: Bosque Comes Up Short

Bosque lost against Socorro back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bosque Bobcats lost 56-33 to the Socorro Warriors. The Bobcats' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Bosque still got an impressive performance from Kiyaa'Aanii Otero, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. What's more, Otero also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Cheyenne Anderson was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

Jazmine Alvarado was nothing short of spectacular for Socorro: she almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. The matchup was Alvarado's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Gutierrez, who posted eight points along with nine boards and eight steals.

Bosque's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Socorro, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-17.

Bosque has already played their next contest, a 56-33 defeat against Sandia Prep on the 4th. As for Socorro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 33-27 win against Hatch Valley on the 4th.
